Having signed a 4-year cooperation agreement, AS Norvik Banka has become a major private cooperation partner of the Latvian Biathlon Federation (LBF) and a title sponsor of a biathlete Andrejs Rastorgujevs. The concluded agreement enables LBF to continue development of traditions of the Latvian biathlon and gives our most talented biathlete Andrejs Rastorgujevs an opportunity to prepare himself properly for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.

The cooperation agreement consists of two parts – financing for Andrejs Rastorgujevs and support for LBF activities. The principal amount of the agreement is 170K EUR and it provides also for additional funding opportunities for outstanding achievements in an international competition (World Cup, IBU Cup, World Championship, European Championship, Olympics).

„As of today, Norvik Banka becomes a major private cooperation partner of LBF that has engaged in development and popularisation of the Latvian biathlon. In the framework of the cooperation we will provide the biathlete Andrejs Rastorgujevs with everything he needs to concentrate on training only, when preparing for the Winter Olympics. At the same time, our cooperation will be aimed also at the development of the Latvian biathlon in general; in particular, by arranging large-scale biathlon activities which will be available to everyone interested,” pointed out Chairman of the Board at Norvik Banka Oliver Bramwell.

„I am gratified that my sports achievements have been evaluated and support has been voiced to my goals – to get off to a good start on an international biathlon track. At the moment I and my trainer can concentrate only on training and start in the competition, and that's the main thing. I would like to thank Norvik Banka for its trust in me,” said Andrejs Rastorgujevs.

„Attraction of a title sponsor with a long-term contract is a very significant event for the entire Latvian Biathlon Federation, as it will allow sportsmen to engage completely in training processes and achieve the highest results in international competitions. I am gratified by the common understanding gained during negotiations and by Norvik Banka’s support to sport, which presents the bank as a socially responsible cooperation partner. This is a good example how the bank gives an opportunity to the sportsman to fulfil his dreams and to the Latvian society as a whole – to experience joyful moments for good sport performance, while to Latvia as a country – to take pride in our Andrejs,” commented the President of LBF Baiba Broka. „We are on the right track to establish great cooperation with the companies willing to support the Latvian sport and sportsmen,” she added.
