PNB Banka starts the year 2019 successfully and continues its social activities

PNB Banka has started the year 2019 successfully by launching a new social project and continuing the previous activities.

The bank’s performance as of 31 January 2019:
  • profit in the amount of EUR 263 thousand;
  • deposit portfolio amount – EUR 474 million;
  • asset amount in the reporting period – EUR 588 million.

PNB Banka’s work is aimed at making daily financial services convenient and available to everyone, paying special attention to seniors who have deserved a respectful treatment and financial solutions suited to their needs. Seniors account for approximately two thirds of the Latvian clients, and many of them still prefer direct communication with the bank’s employees at the bank’s branches. The bank runs a senior employment program, under which senior consultants on a daily basis help their peers with financial guidance, speaking the language they understand, as well as provide feedback on products and services, thus improving the quality of seniors’ life.

“Buying medicines on the instalment plan” is a new service for seniors that is unprecedented for the Baltics, under which the prescription medication can be bought immediately and repaid by instalments. This social program has been specifically developed by PNB Banka and Mēness Aptieka for individuals aged 55-75 years who have no possibility to buy all the medicines prescribed by a doctor at once but who can afford gradual payments. The purpose of the service is to prevent situations where due to financial reasons seniors prefer not to buy certain medicines at all, thus posing serious risks to health in the long term. The peculiarity of this service is that, among other things, it is available at no additional costs for clients.

In 2019, PNB Banka continues its cooperation with the Latvian Pensioners' Federation. Early in the year, we took part in a meeting of pensioner societies of the Latgale region in Rezekne, during which we informed the attendees of the ways to facilitate financial routine of the seniors. The next similar event was held in February, when the Latvian Pensioners' Federation brought together all pensioner societies of Latvia.

Participation in an event organised by the Kuldiga School for Seniors is worthy of special mention. The event brought together approximately 100 very outgoing seniors who were interested in financial developments and enthusiastically participated in a Q&A session devoted to the bank’s provided services.

Considering that personal communication with clients is one of the bank’s key values, this year PNB Banka keeps following the established tradition – to greet our loyal clients a happy 100th birthday. This January, 3 our established clients were greeted, while one of them celebrated his 101th anniversary!

PNB Banka keeps providing all previous services and daily communication with clients in a wide branch network throughout Latvia. PNB Banka is a local bank with 26 years of experience, and it is one of the Latvia’s top ten banks in terms of the asset amount. The bank is proud of its almost 600 employees and approximately 100 thousand clients, paying special attention to the seniors.
