The process of guaranteed compensation payout to AS PNB Banka customers has started

The process of guaranteed compensation payout to AS PNB Banka customers has started on 22 August. In order to optimize the payout process and organize customer flow, AS PNB Banka has developed a procedure for receiving the state guaranteed compensation for every customer group.

 

Some customers do not need to visit the bank today or in the coming days – they will receive compensations automatically. Representatives of Citadele bank ask everyone to plan their visit in the following days and weeks carefully to the best of their ability. Taking into account the time necessary to process applications and the number of people, who should receive their SSIA (VSAA) payments first off, the payout process is expected to take at least a month.

 

State guaranteed compensation application procedure for AS PNB Banka customers:

  • Private persons, SSIA pension and benefit beneficiaries that have an account with Citadele

    Customers that have managed to open an account with Citadele by 22 August will have the guaranteed compensation automatically credited to their current account. These customers do not need to visit the bank.

  • Private persons, SSIA pension and benefit beneficiaries that do not have an account with Citadele

    As of today and over the following month, these customers can visit certain branches of AS PNB Banka, bringing their passports or ID cards to sign the documents. Pension or benefits will be transferred to an account opened automatically with Citadele or any other bank account.

  • Private persons that have an account with Citadele

    Instead of visiting the branches, these customers are asked to fill out a free-form order via internet-bank to have the guaranteed compensation transferred to their account with Citadele.

     

  • Private persons that do not have an account with Citadele

    These customers can receive the compensation by filling out an application at one of Citadele branches. Please bring your passport or ID card. Funds will be credited to any account specified.

  • Private persons that are unable to visit the branches due to reduced mobility

    Customers suffering from reduced mobility are welcome to open an account with Citadele by executing an attested power of attorney or a power of attorney issued by a Family Tribunal. Powers of attorney executed by AS PNB Banka will be invalid. The Ministry of Welfare has approached municipalities to provide discounts and reliefs from notary service fees charged for preparation of powers of attorney at-home.

 

Non-residents and legal persons will be serviced separately – more information is available on Citadele website and Infographics. We ask all customers to pay careful attention to payout arrangements and bear in mind that this process involves customer data exchange between several institutions, which might take up to three days. Branches of AS PNB Banka will be open for a month and, if necessary, their operating period will be extended, while the compensation can be claimed for 5 years.

 

We would like to remind, that 99.2% of AS PNB Banka customers will receive full amount of their deposits as a guaranteed compensation. Compensations up to EUR 100 000 will be covered by the Deposit Guarantee Fund (DGF) and will be paid out to the owners. The guaranteed compensation includes salaries, pensions, deposits of the banks’ customers and interest accrued by 15 August 2019.
